Our Farms

Our mission is to improve the lives of people in Cheshire through creating sustainable jobs and contributing to the local economy through the sale of locally grown produce.

Our farms will create jobs for people who are long-term unemployed by growing and selling fruit, vegetables, salads and herbs. We will do this in a lively, healthy and inclusive environment, encouraging people to learn and develop new skills.

Our farms will:

  • Grow up to 80 different seasonal food items in open fields and poly tunnels
  • Plant a range of fruit trees around three sides of the farm
  • Keep free range chickens so we can add eggs to our weekly veg boxes
  • Grow seedlings from seeds and then plant them outside when they’re strong enough
  • Harvest our crops as soon as they’re ready to eat, then wash, pack and send them to customers or market stalls on local train stations

Our busiest time will be from April to September – the growing and harvesting season for most of our crops. We will keep busy through the winter months by growing winter crops and looking after our fruit trees and chickens. We will also run creative craft activities including wood carving, jewellery making, hand made cards and cookery.
